Shawn Johnson's father's name is Doug Johnson. He was a former high school wrestling coach and helped train his daughter in gymnastics at a young age. He has been very supportive of his daughter's athletic career and has been present at many of her competitions. Doug Johnson also runs his own financial services company in Waukee, Iowa, where he lives with his wife and Shawn's mother, Teri.
